1 The Tulip Festival Opens To The Public
On 19th February, the Guangzhou Tulip Festival kicked off at Nansha Sunflower Garden. Tens of thousands of imported tulip bulbs are expected to bloom in the coming month.

3 Embassy closure over the Chinese New Year
The Consulate-general in Guangzhou will be closed over the Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) period from 21 January until 25 January 2012.
4 TheOneMinutes Video Exhibition opened in CEAC Xiamen
On 15 October, theOneMinutes Video Exhibition opened in the Chinese European Art Center (CEAC), with a crowd of students and video art fans at present. Initiated by Mr. Jos Houweling, former director Sandberg Institute Amsterdam and launched in 1998, by now it has developed into a global network with makers from 100 countries and an archive of 10000 video works that are shown national and international wide on many podia.
5 The 3rd Holland Pavilion kicks off at the 110th Canton Fair
On 15 October 2011, Maarten Derksen, Acting Consul General opened the 3rd Holland Pavilion at the 110th Canton Fair in Pazhou International Exhibition Center in Guangzhou. Chen Chaoren, both Vice Secretary General of China Import and Export Fair and Vice Chairman of China Foreign Trade Centre addressed at the opening, followed with a ribbon cutting ceremony together with representatives of participating Dutch companies from Burg CC, Dekra and Nilesk.
6 “Holland Week” opens to the public
Consul General Ms. Anne Luwema delivered the opening speech at the Holland Week, a tourism promotion event co-organised by the Netherlands Board of Tourism and Conventions and by Zhengjia Plaza during the Golden Week October holiday. A performance by Dutch band Gatecrash added to the atmosphere, and a selection of Dutch companies including Heineken, HSG-Princess and Trade Point Distribution had their products on display.
7 Mr. Eberhard van der Laan, Mayor of City of Amsterdam and delegation visits Shenzhen
Accompanied by Consul General Mrs Anne Luwema and a delegation, Mr. Eberhard van der Laan, Mayor of city of Amsterdam, paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Lv Ruifeng, the Executive vice Mayor of city of Shenzhen on 29 August 2011, during the delegation of Amsterdam’s visit in China.
8 Participation of the Fontys Dance Academy in the 8th Guangdong Modern Dance Festival in Guangzhou
Teachers and students from the Dutch Fontys Dance Academy are in Guangzhou again, participating in the 8th Guangdong Modern Dance Festival. Fontys Dance Academy has been participating in the dance festival since 2008. Experts, teachers and students are taking part in the festival by presenting main stage shows, symposiums, seminars, special programs and master classes.
