Netherlands Consulate General in Guangzhou, China

Welcome

Welcome to the website of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Guangzhou. The Consulate General was established in 1997 and covers the provinces of Guangdong, Fujian, Hainan en de autonomic region Guangxi.

The Consulate General’s focal points are to promote Dutch economic interests and to provide consular services. There are over 250 Dutch nationals in Guangzhou. More and more entrepreneurs find their way to this top economic region. Guangzhou and the surrounding provinces are also a popular holiday destination for Dutch tourists. Furthermore, the amount of Chinese nationals visiting the Netherlands for work, studies or tourism has increased strongly.

At present, Dutch companies have invested in over 2,400 projects in China, of which more than 150 are located in the Guangzhou area. At the same time, roughly 300 Chinese companies are active in the Netherlands, an important stimulus for the Dutch economy and employment. The Consulate General contributes to the advancement of Sino-Dutch co-operation by match-making and by performing a bridging function between Dutch companies and the still strongly government-influenced Chinese company culture. Furthermore, the Consulate General aims, together with the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA), to bring the Netherlands to the attention of Chinese business, trade and industry as an attractive location for investment and the establishment of companies.

My staff and I shall be pleased to assist you, together with the larger Dutch economic network in Guangzhou, China and the Netherlands.

Sincerely,

Anne Luwema
Consul-General
